Reading through the BIBLE in 2009
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that all God's people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
- There is a reading from Old and New Testament each day.
- The Old Testament has been ordered chronologically, by events.
- You can combine days to catch up on missed reading. This is only a guide.

STEP 1: |
Get a Bible that you feel comfortable reading on a daily basis. Find a comfortable place to spend the next 20-30 minutes with the Lord. Turn to today’s reading in the Bible, asking the Holy Spirit to teach you through His Word. |
|
STEP 2: |
a. Read both the Old & New Testament Passages for that day.
b. Or read just the OT or NT if you don’t want to read the whole Bible.
Don’t rush, as this is not a race. Read with an open heart and underline anything the Lord impresses on you as a personal word to be applied.

STEP 3: |
We encourage you to Journal and Pray in combination with your daily reading. You can find an inexpensive blank journal at bookstores or dollar stores. Here’s a simple and effective formula to follow as you engage and reflect on your daily reading:
* Turn to a fresh page * Enter the Date & Title the Page * Then journal according to the formula below:
S – Record a key SCRIPTURE from the OT & NT passages.
O – OBSERVE some of the Key themes, lessons, examples or promises.
A – Give APPLICATION as to how you will be different today because of what you have just read.
P – Record a PRAYER based on your observation & application. |
* Contact the Pastors or Elders for more assistance.
